
Continuing Legal Education Courses
I teach continuing legal education ("CLE") courses for lawyers on topics related to lawyer well-being and race literacy. You'll find a list of the CLEs I've taught below, as well as links to view them online.
In this CLE, I teach tools for syncing one's menstrual cycle with their legal practice to experience a more balanced and supportive practice. Implications of not aligning one's practice with their menstrual cycle include possible ethical violations, which are discussed at length.

In this CLE, Burnout and Alcohol Coach and Wellness Expert Wendy McCallum and I discuss gray area drinking and how it affects lawyers. Gray area drinking is examined within the spectrum of alcohol use and behavioral markers are shared to help lawyers identify if they are gray area drinkers.

In this CLE, Dr. Erika Powell and I discuss White supremacy in the legal profession and its effects on both people of Color and White people. Ways that White women lawyers + White trans women lawyers can change their allegiance from White supremacy to people of Color are also discussed.

In this CLE, Dr. Erika Powell and I explore the dimensions of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion ("DEI") work and race literacy work. Workplace race dynamics are discussed including how confirmation bias and racism affect the legal profession.

In this CLE, Certified Burnout & Alcohol Coach Wendy McCallum and I discuss gray area drinking including what it is, where it falls on the alcohol use disorder spectrum, and how to change one's relationship to alcohol with curiosity and compassion.

This CLE discusses why lawyers experience greater overall rates of substance use and mental health issues than the general public. A discussion of the neuroscience of pleasure occurs and tools for increasing pleasure in our lives are provided.

In this CLE, I discuss why the practice of law doesn't always support lawyer well-being and what we can do about it. Ways that organizations can provide services that enhance attorney mental health and well-being are discussed.

In this CLE, you will learn what motivates and inspires lawyers to be the best versions of ourselves and how the current structure of the legal profession is at odds with what makes lawyers happy.

This CLE addresses the importance of lawyer well-being as it relates to our ability to practice law with competence. Several trauma-informed body-based tools are taught that are effective in calming anxiety, overwhelm and stress.

In this CLE, you will learn practical tools and techniques for maintaining your well-being as the legal profession adjusts to life post-COVID-19. Additionally, you will learn how to utilize time management tools to help with competing work priorities.
